We are maniacs who love rare and beautiful tuning of old cars. For several years now we have been creating copies of such plastic parts. We love to make old parts strictly adhering to all visible parts and dimensions. And sometimes we modify parts for better fit.

ONCE UPON A TIME...
Back in 1975, the United States allowed the use of square headlights on cars. (Until that year, only round headlights were allowed!) And the triumphant march of double square headlights began!
These headlights were installed on a huge number of cars. It was very fashionable, first in the USA, then around the world. In the 80s, fashion made its way to the Old World.
Tuning companies have started putting square headlights on new BMWs.
BRIEF HISTORY OF TAIFUN COMPANY
The American-style grill with square headlights for the BMW e30 was invented by the Taifun company. Taifun was established in Hainburg, Germany in 1985. It made tuning options for many cars. But his most famous product is the square headlight grill for many BMW models.
The Taifun grill was approved by the car manufacturer and officially sold in BMW showrooms. Several thousand these grills have been sold. But integrated car optics ended the company’s heyday in 1996.
Unfortunately, little information has come down to us about the Taifun company and its details.
Separate, fragile from time to time grills and advertising materials of those years allow us to reconstruct those distant events.

The CLASSIC has a less pronounced structure than the standard. It has a beautiful matte reflection at a distance of more than a meter.

HOW WE CREATED THE TAIFUN GRILL REPLICA
This story began in the winter of 2017. We were asked to create a replica Taifun grill from the sample. The sample was installed on a car. When we arrived, there was a snowdrift instead of a car. In the photo we are raking it. It took 3 hours to remove the grill. After that, we restored the Taifun grill using the old method through fiberglass. The matrix was removed through a silicone impression. In the photo, it lies on the table. We made 10 prints, and we refused it because uneven planes, not very smooth lamellas…
All properties are original details. )))) And we realized that we need to work with modern methods. We scanned the matrix, aligned all planes, strengthened all weak points.
And now we present this detail to you.
Then we had to take up the headlight mounts. Taifun used to make such specific headlight mounts for its grilles that people were speechless when they installed it on a car. We made a copy too. And we couldn’t fit the headlights correctly like many of our clients. So we simplified it and made frames that are simply bolted on with long bolts. An elegant solution, but far from the original.
So now we make METAL LIGHTS for Taifun Grill. The mounts are reliable and beautiful. But most importantly, it completely fit in the regular places of the original headlights. No more drilling or adjustment needed.
Just take of your old headlights and put on new ones.

MADE OF?

We make our parts from abs plastic. It holds its shape well and does not depend on weather conditions, unlike fiberglass. And unlike other plastics, it is a true three-component composite.
Acrylic, styrene and butadiene are well known. But their varieties in the ABS work in a very interesting way. Acrylic and styrene form a three-dimensional lattice responsible for rigidity. Butadiene molecules are inside this lattice. And they are responsible for the elasticity of plastic.
In terms of fire resistance, impact resistance, frost resistance and chemical resistance, it bypasses polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene and other types of widespread plastics.
WHAT ELSE?
To give your car more style, you can cover the headlight glass with colored film. Yellow color is for a more retro look.
Black one to look tougher. In body color for originality.
Or orange to be more visible!

Can I install by myself or should I contact the service station?
It is possible to install by yourself, but you will need the help of a friend to hold the grill.
Can there be elements in a different color?
We only produce black. You can paint in your color. Plastic is well painted.
Are the headlights included?
It is a complete installation set including headlights, fasteners, bolts and studs.
I have to think about it. For how long do you plan to release?
We do not know. Till the matrix is destroyed. We have many other parts in production. We are not planning to make a new matrix this year.
I like the original details. Do you know where to get it?
Search on the Internet. But be careful when installing – butadiene has evaporated from plastic over 30 years. The plastic has become as brittle as chips. You risk being left with several pieces of the grill on your hands during installation.
And to be honest, what is the difference between your grill and the original?
Modern plastic. Strengthened from the inside those areas that are often broken or have traces of repair on the original. Modified those mounts that are completely or partially broken on the original. New mounts for headlights.
I restore the car in full accordance with the original. I like your grill. But it is not a BMW part!
The original Taifun was approved for sale by BMW and sold by official BMW dealers.

How will the goods be packed upon delivery?
All our items are packed in a five-layer cardboard box. There is a frame inside of 5-mm corners for safety. All parts are fixed inside the box.
